Introduction
As per the guidelines issued by the University Grants Commission (UGC), AICTE, and Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, ragging in any form is strictly prohibited in educational institutions across India.
Satpuda College of Engineering & Polytechnic maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward ragging. Every student and parent/guardian must submit an anti-ragging affidavit at the time of admission to ensure a safe and respectful environment for all.
What Constitutes Ragging?
According to the UGC, ragging includes:
Any verbal or physical abuse
Forcing someone to perform acts that cause shame or embarrassment
Bullying, intimidation, or harassment of any kind
Discrimination based on caste, religion, language, or background
Mandatory Requirements
All newly admitted students are required to:
Read the UGC anti-ragging regulations carefully.
Fill in and submit the anti-ragging affidavit (by both student and parent/guardian).
Submit the affidavit online via the UGC portal and upload/submit the printed copies to the college office.
Steps to Submit the Anti-Ragging Affidavit
Visit the Official UGC Anti-Ragging Portal:

Choose “Student” and follow the instructions.Fill in All Required Details
Including course, college name, and contact information.Generate the Affidavit
You will receive a PDF copy via email.Submit a Copy to the College
Print and submit signed copies to the college’s Admission/Administrative Office.
Important Guidelines
No student will be allowed to attend classes or reside in the hostel without submitting the affidavits.
The affidavits are mandatory for every academic session.
Ragging is a criminal offense and punishable by suspension, expulsion, and legal action.
